Top-5: Sergey Lipsky


Sergey Lipsky is one of our favorite selectors from Russia. He’s DJing at the best venues in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg. He’s a one half of Simple Symmetry (other half is his brother Sasha) maybe the most promising Russian electronic act today. Sergey is also a guitarist in Saint Petersburg Disco Spin Club. Both acts released a superb 12” records this year: the first one on Glenview and the second on Is It Balearic? And here’s a Sergey’ top-5 selection for us!

It’s a great psychedelic soul record, the only one album produced by Eddie Hazel as a solo artist. Eddie is known more as Parliament, Funkadelic, P-Funk All Stars lead guitarist, famous for his great solo on «Maggot brain».

It’s a very eclectic album produced by Manuel Gottsching with Rosi Muller on vocals. Gottsching played most of the instruments here and showed his great skills as a guitarist.
